Writer's Groups
I belong to several writer's groups, some are face to face, some are snail mail, and/or on-line, but each has the same attraction. A terrific bunch of people.
WyoPoets - The Wyoming state poetry organization. WyoPoets is an organization of persons who write poetry for publication and/or as a hobby. Although most of our members are in Wyoming, we have several members located in neighboring states and other areas of the country.
What we do: Our mission is to provide a base for mutual help and inspiration by encouraging interest in poetry throughout the state of Wyoming. This can be achieved by writing, publishing, studying, and sharing poetry in its many forms.
Affiliations: WyoPoets is the Wyoming branch of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. (NFSPS)
Wyoming Writer's, Inc. (WWI) is a not-for-profit corporation focused on helping Wyoming authors achieve their full potential. Organized in 1974, the organization has helped a full generation of writers develop expertise, receive recognition, and find their true voice in the American West. Through annual conferences, monthly newsletters, workshops, activities, and networking, WWI brings the collective wisdom of our members together to help each other excel.
Bearlodge Writers of Sundance, WY - The Bearlodge Writers have been meeting since 1979. Membership has expanded over the years to include writers from the Black Hills of South Dakota and Wyoming (and beyond). Our purpose is to enjoy each other’s fellowship, to encourage one another in our writing endeavors, to help each other improve our work, and to share information and tips.
Prairie Pens Writer's Group - Local writer's group that nurtures and encourages new and existing writers through gentle critique and feedback. Generously supported by the local public library.
Word By Word Writer's Society (WBWWS) - A private by invitation group that is dedicated to nurturing and encouraging women, not only in writing but in life.
On Line Communities - (Warning, AKA The Sites That Eat Your Writing Time)
I frequent these as "Constance". Yes, very original, I know. I've decided to be me instead of one of my alter egos. None of us posts much, because time is short, and getting sucked into another dimension is a real possibility.
Tor Community (New!)
Not Constance Communities I check in on once in a while.
I'm sure there's more, but that will do for now. No use encouraging people to waste time, since you all do it so well on your own...
